Mt Ōasa (大麻山)
Extra information:
This mountain is a great side trip between temples #1 and #2 of the Shikoku Henro 88 Pilgrimage. Please note that the route is steep, so take your time and bring plenty of water and snacks.
If you want to do a longer loop, then follow the information in this pamphlet produced by Tokushima Prefecture. Their website also has information about the longer Shikoku no Michi trail.
Access: Bandō station (板東駅) is on the JR Shikoku Kōtoku Line that runs between Takamatsu and Tokushima cities. Most pilgrims start their Pilgrimage here. From the station, you can either follow your map app or the green lines on the shoulder of the roads to get to Ryozenji, Temple #1 of the Shikoku 88. From there, the hike is to the left and behind the main temple. Follow the long row of Torii gates to Ōasahiko Shrine (大麻比古神社) to find the beautiful green pond featured in the thumbnail of the video above. The mountain is directly behind the shrine at the end of a narrow forest road.

Small typo:
“Shikoku Hero 88” >>> Shikoku Henro 88
Love your site!

David,
Many thanks for pointing out the typo! Alas, it was victim to the autocorrect.
