Mt. Fuji now has a climbing fee for all hikers regardless of trailhead or approach. Be prepared to pay to climb the mountain in 2025 if hiking during the summer season.

One thing that is not so commonly known is that the huts stay running for 2 weeks or so after the “official” end to the climbing season on the 30th August. So if you want to avoid the crowds, but still climb in relative comfort, then it’s worth looking into these dates as an alternative..

From your list I only climbed Mt Fuji up to now and I’m not a professional. It would help to get an idea for other trips you present here, where you would rank Mt Fuji on your 1-5 scale.

That’s a good question. Based on my criteria, I’d rank Fuji as a 4 out of 5. It’s not incredibly technical by any means, but there is a bit of vertical elevation gain and the altitude to deal with as well. I hope that helps.

Not unless you have 12-point crampons, an ice axe, and are ready for 100kmh winds!
