Minami Alps hikes (南アルプス)

For up-to-date information about all of these hikes (including photos and maps), please consider purchasing my guidebook to the Japan Alps.

The Minami Alps are one of the most rugged, inaccessible mountain chains on Honshu and home to some of the most spectacular vistas of Mt. Fuji. The weather is usually more stable than the Chuo or Kita Alps and a full-length traverse of the entire range is without a doubt the toughest multi-day trek in Japan.
