Kansai hikes (関西地方)

While most people think of the Kansai area as an endless expanse of concrete, a short train ride in every direction will offer some relatively unspoilt scenery, pleasant views, and perhaps a temple or two. Mt. Rokko and Mt. Kongo are, undoubtedly, the most popular peaks in the area, but the level of development on both peaks is quite appalling. Here are some much more tolerable alternatives:
